KMC Flat Lawas House Gutter Collapsed
由於昨晚的一場大雨，導致市政局剛裝修完工的古晉市議會平民房兩層樓（老越）屋頂天花板以及水槽塌下，所幸當時並未造成人命傷亡。民主行動黨炮轟南市市政局的豆腐渣工程，草菅人命！
古晉區國會議員張健仁特別助理鄭世興在隨同浮羅岸區州議員黃慶偉前往巡視時表示，很慶幸並未造成人命的傷亡。同時，只是因為一場雨就導致坍塌讓人無法原諒。
鄭世興也通過設立在該處的政府工程通知告示牌了解到，工程完工日期是在4個月前。對此他指出，工程才剛完工4個月就發生了天花板坍塌事件讓人覺得質疑是否涉及偷工減料，也讓人質疑該承包商是否有依照工程指標去完成。
所以要求市政府要為此事附上全責，給人民一個交代，儘快通知承包商在最短的時間進行修復以及徹查天花板塌下的原因是否有涉及到偷工減料的因素，並嚴密監督所有工程的進行，因為市政府倘若花費了龐大的費用來進行這項工程卻得不到應有的效果，這根本是在浪費納稅人的錢。

Press Statement by Dr. Tang Sie HingSMSL urges the authorities to exercise restraint to allow citizens their democratic rights and to give them the space to peacefully express themselves in the forthcoming Sunday’s Himpunan Hijau 2.0 rally in Kuantan. Chairperson of SMSL, Mr Tan Bun Teet explained, “The people have fought hard to stop Lynas and a number of other environmental problems. It is our duty as responsible and caring citizens to keep our country and our family safe.” Earlier this month, a temporary operating licence was issued to Lynas Malaysia, a wholly owned operation of Australia’s Lynas Corporation for its controversial rare earth refinery plant in Gebeng, an industrial estate about 20 km from Kuantan. “We have tried every possible avenue and yet the Government has gone ahead with its bad decision which threatens our future. It is understandable that this will spark outrage and anger amongst people.” said Haji Ismail Abu Bakar, Vice-Chairperson of SMSL. He added, “Many families living in kampungs along the coast in Pahang will be directly affected once Lynas starts to dump its waste water into the South China Sea. These families depend on the seafood and tourism industry. They run small businesses to sustain their livelihoods. Who will want to buy contaminated seafood? Who will want to holiday next to a toxic plant?” SMSL is disappointed that the Government has not taken on board grave concerns of the public which leave the people no choice but to take to the street to protest. The injustice is felt everywhere, not just in Kuantan but the whole of Malaysia. The good reputation of Malaysia is at stake over the handling of this issue. The Lynas issue is a problem for ALL Malaysians. The pollution will spread over a wide area even into our ASEAN neighbours through the South China Sea. Contaminated seafood and agricultural produce can create serious food safety issue not just for the people of Kuantan but to all the consumers of agriculture and seafood and seafood products. Air pollution from the Lynas plant can be carried far and wide by the north eastern monsoon wind. Where will Lynas find a permanent location for its waste? Which state in Malaysia or which town in Pahang will be the next target? Having a polluting industry will deter investment from clean technology and ethical companies which is the way of the future. Rare earth oxides are crucial raw materials but locating it in an ecologically sensitive area so close to so many families is a bad and regressive move. “SMSL has engaged a strong team of experts to prepare for our legal action with the help of the Pahang Bar. We have strong grounds and we want to leave no stone unturned to present the strongest possible case. Letting Lynas operate is NOT an option.” This Sunday, SMSL and our members and supporters will be gathering next to the site of the previous tennis court near Padang MPK4 at Jalan Kemunting to meet and greet our interstate supporters. We want to thank them in person for their tremendous effort and support to create a better future for Malaysia.
Kuching DAP Response
1. Join in solidarity with our friends all over Malaysia today in supporting the people of Kuantan in rejecting Lynas Corporation’s rare earths processing plant in Gebeng or anywhere in Malaysia.
2. Urge the government in Malaysia to withdraw the temporary operating licence (TOL) for the RM 700 million Lynas Advanced Material Plant in Gebeng, Kuantan and put the interest and safety of people of Kuantan and Malaysia first and not cronies first.
3. We are here to make a stand as Sarawakians that we resist any attempt or plan to set up any rare earth processing plants in Sarawak or make Sarawak a dumping ground for the radioactive waste.
4. Call upon our friends who reside in Australia to rally their local members of parliament to pressure Lynas to withdraw the plan to set up the plant in Kuantan.
5. Last, we want to tell the people of Malaysia that if Barisan Nasional government continues to ignore the requests of her law abiding citizens, A CHANGE OF GOVERNMENT IS THE ONLY SAFE SOLUTION FOR MALAYSIA!

Did Jabu Wet His Feet.
Deputy Chief Minister, Tan Sri Alfred Jabu had challenged the people to go to the ground to wet their feet instead of just talking is not doing justice to himself, said Dr. Tang Sie Hing.Tang whom is PA to Chong Chieng Jen, State Assemblyman for Sentosa said Jabu's outburst in the media yesterday is unbecoming of a senior leader of the state.

Issue: Inaccurate Press Statement Made by Dr Hu Chang Hock
Source: Below is the clip of a press statement which appeared in Sin Chew Daily which was published on 12 January 2012, the daily edition was read by readers in central part of Sarawak.
My response:
1. I noted Dr Hu spoke as advisor to MMA Sibu Sub Branch and regrettably he gave the wrong or outdated facts to the reporters. He erred on saying there are only 2 brain specialists (腦專科醫生) in Sarawak.
2. Currently in Sarawak, there are 7 brain specialist doctors (NOT 2 AS STATED) serving as follows (facts confirmed with the individual specialists):
a. 3 neurosurgeons （腦外科專科醫生） in Sarawak General Hospital
b. 1 adult neurologist （成人腦內科專科醫生）in Sarawak General Hospital
c. 1 paediatric neurologist （小孩腦內科專科醫生）in Sarawak General Hospital
d. 1 neurosurgeon（腦外科專科醫生）in Normah Medical Specialist Centre (private hospital)
e. 1 adult neurologist（成人腦內科專科醫生）affiliated with Timberland Medical Centre (private hospital)
3. With Dr Hu’s press release which is not consistent with the current brain specialists working in Sarawak, it might have caused the following untoward consequences:
a. Dr Hu speaking on behalf of MMA Sibu Sub Branch gave the wrong information and I wonder where his source was and whether any verification was sought with the President of MMA Sarawak Branch in Kuching. This is public embarrassment as many doctors and patients have called up doubting his press statements and he spoke in the capacity as “advisor” and look like he gave the wrong advice.
b. Dr Hu might have inadvertently caused unnecessary distress to the medical colleagues who have worked as brain specialists in Kuching for the last many years and not being recognised locally.
c. Dr Hu’s mistake in giving wrong information during press release might have embarrassed the Malaysian Medical Association which is a National Association for Medical Doctors.
4. Hence
a. I urge the public not to accept Dr Hu’s statement as it is not factual.
b. I urge Dr Hu to apologize for his mistake.
c. I have informed Dr Mary Suma Cardosa who is the current president of Malaysian Medical Association via email of the above incident and seek to clarify the following matters:
i. In making press statement on behalf of MMA, is there a need to seek authorisation from national President as in Dr Hu’s case, he spoke as “advisor to MMA Sibu Sub Branch”?
ii. What are the possible ramifications to the public and medical fraternity in the case like Dr Hu who gave wrong factual information?
iii. If Dr Hu is found to have made press statement which contains wrong facts and may have affected the best interest and reputation of MMA, will MMA take disciplinary actions on Dr Hu?

曼旺支部籌備會 (26/11/2011)
張守江：民主意識擡頭 火箭打破華人新村宿命
（本報古晉27日訊）首次獲准租用華人新村籃球場，砂行動黨打破華人新村“宿命”。
砂行動黨曼旺支部籌備會昨晚於晉連路21哩之來拓村，舉辦一項名為“城市新村齊改變”的晚宴。曼旺支部，概括了新生村、來拓村以及大富村這3個華人新村。據消息指出，行動黨在尋找晚宴場地時，曾先後在新生村及大富村“撞板”，唯最終獲准租用來拓村籃球場。
行動黨砂委員會副主席兼創黨元老張守江在晚宴上致詞時，形容當晚的活動很“特別”，因為獲准使用當地的籃球場。他說，一般上，華人新村的居民都不敢把這類公共場所，租借給行動黨使用，因為他們背後有“壓力”。
“我知道他們會面對壓力，但是為了正義和公平，這個做法是正確的。感謝籃球總會負責人，你們的勇氣是我所敬仰的。這對砂州行動黨，屬於歷來第二次，第一次是在泗里街，如今這種精神，被傳到了曼旺。時候已到，我們已等了30年。”
曼旺區人民開始改變
張守江說，30年前，砂行動黨也曾經到當地，唯當時人民反應冷淡，人們不敢出席行動黨的政治演說，他們也常說行動黨是外來政黨，讓該黨嘗盡閉門羹。不過，如今曼旺區人民開始改變了，他們不再害怕行動黨，並且在大雨滂沱的當晚，也依然有許多人出席該黨之晚宴。
另一方面，支部籌備會兼晚宴籌委主席李木平也在致詞時，特別點名感謝來拓村民眾會堂主席及多用途中心主席。他希望當晚的晚宴之後，曼旺的改變能從3個華人新村開始，而華人新村，則能成為行動黨強而有力的根據地。
“從416州選的成績來看，民聯在3個華人新村的得票率竟然達到了驚人的78%，這是一項大突破，也給了我們一個很大的鼓舞。人民已經看到了希望，新村有許多問題，投訴了很多年但都沒有獲得解決，這不是我們所要的，我們要的是一個會幫我們講話、做事的人。”
國陣政府貪污弊案不斷
與此同時，在當晚以壓軸方式出場的行動黨全國宣傳秘書兼八打靈再也北區國會議員潘儉偉在致詞時，炮轟國陣政府的貪污舞弊。他說，首相雖然曾承諾改善稽查報告的錯誤，但這3年來，總稽查司報告所揭發的醜聞依然一大堆。
潘儉偉也向出席者仔細分析，總稽查司報告中的種種醜聞，以及國家政府在財政上的各種揮霍行為。多位當晚的主講人，包括浮羅岸區州議員黃慶偉、朋嶺區州議員楊薇諱、張健仁特別助理鄭世興、莫迪等人，也均在各自的致詞中，呼籲曼旺地區人民，在來屆大選票投民聯或行動黨，讓當晚之活動，瀰漫著濃濃的大選拉票意味。
當然，這也顯示行動黨在來屆國選，對曼旺國會選區的勢在必得。目前，民聯3黨中，除了行動黨，公正黨也已在曼旺設立區部，同時也已磨拳擦掌，準備在國選出戰該區。
“火箭執政改革有望” 張守江勸人民勿再沉迷

張守江表示，人聯黨於416州選，在古晉一敗塗地，這就是所謂的風水輪流轉，人民迫切需要改變。然而，在敗了州選後，人聯黨依然在忙著內斗。他說：“他們（人聯黨）駡自己同志，比駡反對黨還凶。”
“他們是為了自己，還是人民？我們不能再沉迷，不能再相信這樣的政黨。為什麼不能給我們行動黨一次機會？在檳城，我們已經成功了。”
他稱，全國大選即將到來，人聯黨肯定會有很多花樣；其實不只是在大選，即使自己黨內選舉，人聯黨也同樣“花樣百出”，而據他所了解，一些改選的投票箱，甚至還被設於外頭的長屋。他將之形容為“天大的笑話”。
他表示，如今國陣也在學行動黨“派錢”，給予學生100令吉。然而，這與行動黨是有差別的，前者是賺了錢，去分給人民百姓；而後者則是借錢來派，但最終還是要收回。
“看看今天的人聯黨。反對黨看水溝，他們也來有樣學樣。我們看水溝，是要告訴人聯黨或執政黨，前來解決溝渠問題；他們作為政府，也來學人看水溝，結果學得不像樣。”

Shoddy work by quality engineers? Borneo Post 31 Oct 2011
KUCHING: An up-and-coming politician Mordi Bimol admits that Malaysia has quality engineers and funds to build good roads but he is puzzled why certain stretches of rural roads wear out several months after being resurfaced!
Mordi, who is the special assistant of Bandar Kuching MP Chong Chieng Jen, said rural roads deserved better attention for the benefit of the people.
He claimed that during a recent visit with some DAP comrades to Kampung Perigi/Selarat along Jalan Sematan-Lundu they saw a 50m stretch of road in poor condition.
Mordi said he was told by some villagers that the government had resurfaced that particular stretch of road before the state election in April this year.
“Malaysia has quality engineers and the funds to build and maintain good roads for Sarawakians … and this is the quality we are getting in Sarawak?” he told a news conference here Saturday.
Mordi added that residents there were “very disappointed” and wanted the relevant authorities to carry out remedial work quickly.
“I will write to the Public Works Department (JKR), Land and Survey Department (LSD) and Opar assemblyman Ranum Mina for some action (to be taken),” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Tang Sie Hing, who is also a special assistant to Chong, claimed that residents of Stampin Resettlement Scheme were not happy with the bottleneck situation right after the first bridge in the area.
Dr Tang added that the low-lying part never fails to flood a little during high tides, and the situation would worsen on rainy days.
He hoped the authorities concerned would ameliorate the situation and clear up the drains soon as it was affecting the lives of some 200 families.
“When the flooding gets serious during high tides, vehicles cannot even drive through the bottleneck, causing a great deal of inconvenience to residents there because that is the only main access they have.”
Dr Tang claimed that the residents had channelled their complaints to the authorities such as JKR and Kuching South City Council (MBKS) but to no avail.

在首屆執委選舉中，林峰獲選為支部主席，行動黨古晉國會議員張健仁的特別助理鄭世興醫生獲選為支部副主席，秘書職位則由江炫慧擔任。該支部大會獲得黨員踴躍出席，由朋嶺區州議員楊薇諱擔任議長，州代表為石角區州議員周宛詩。

DAP fund-raising dinner in Serian attracts 500 supporters
Some 500 people showed up at the state DAP’s fund-raising dinner in Serian on Saturday, and Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong was visibly pleased by the response.
“The attendance tonight is so much better compared to a function which was held in Siburan recently,” remarked Yong, who is also the state DAP treasurer.
Among those who spoke at the gathering, which comprised mostly people from the Chinese community, were several ‘potential candidates’ for the next general election. Word from the grapevine is that Edward Andrew Luak could be fielded in Serian, Dr Tang Sie Hing (Stampin) and Mordi Bimol (Mas Gading).
Meanwhile, state DAP secretary Chong Chieng Jen said the party was likely to contest in Serian in the 13th general election.
Speaking at the re-opening of its Serian branch on Saturday, he said a discussion on this matter had already been held with all Pakatan Rakyat (PR) component parties.
“It was agreed that DAP would contest the Serian seat but this has not been finalised yet,” he said.
On the DAP’s go-rural thrust, Chong, who is also Bandar Kuching MP and Kota Sentosa assemblyman, claimed that the party had received many membership application forms from the rural populace, particularly those from Serian.

“準備好上陣國選” 鄭世興：蓄勢待發
(本報古晉25日訊)州行動黨秘書張健仁之特別助理鄭世興醫生表示﹐他已準備在來屆國選中上陣。他表示﹐自己有信心能夠為民聯帶來勝利﹐因為行動黨一直都聆聽人民的需求。他說﹕“如果我被選為民聯候選人﹐我有信心﹐我也感謝黨給我機會。我已準備接受這機會。”
但是﹐他表示﹐目前談論候選人課題仍舊太早﹐因為民聯尚未決定人選。坊間相信﹐鄭世興將在實旦賓上陣。在2008年3月的國選中﹐該議席上演一場砂人聯黨﹑行動黨及公正黨的三角戰。
施志豪有意上陣實旦賓區
在另一方面﹐州公正黨主席施志豪在兩週前表示﹐該黨有意在實旦賓區上陣。提及上屆國選的成績﹐鄭世興醫生說﹕“它是一場三角戰﹐我們排名第二﹐其一個政黨(公正黨)沒有獲得很多票。”他表示﹐根據以往的紀錄﹐行動黨在一對一情況下獲得較好的支持。在2008年的國選中﹐行動黨在該區獲得1萬8896票﹐公正黨則只獲得2198票。
民聯儘量避免三角戰
他表示﹐雖然公正黨在今年的州選中﹐在巴都林當區獲勝﹐他形容該項勝利是“投給民聯的一票”。他說﹕“在巴都林當﹐人民對行動黨較熟悉。但是﹐如果人們不同意﹐我尊重他們的見解。”行動黨持有實旦賓選區的兩個州議席﹐即哥打聖淘沙及石角。
然而﹐鄭世興表示﹐民聯將儘量避免三角戰。他說﹕“我可看到﹐公正黨很努力服務人民。當人們充滿熱誠及能量時﹐他們可提出他們的意願﹐但是﹐我們必須避免民聯內的任何爭執。”因此﹐他相信﹐民聯領袖將和平談判﹐因為他們已從經驗中學習。他說﹕“我們知道﹐坐下來談判很重要。”
